| ALFA ROMEO RL SS 1926 |
|
(Italy 1926)
It was powered by a straight-six engine, and custom-built bodies were mounted on its standard chassis. The example on display is a “spider bateau” version, so called because the tail looks like an upside-down keel, and has an aluminium bonnet and mahogany rear end. This unique bodywork was made in 1926 by Wilkinson of Long Island, New York, for a well-to-do American Alfa enthusiast.
